RE: Dialog at Redbubble
@Deb, I read your blog. Nice write up!
I had a strong blog going at VOX but they shut down their operation just recently.
However, they did allow the contents to be exported. So I recently started
up a fresh blog for free here http://jacksart.typepad.com/blog/
There is no write up yet, just the stuff that was imported from VOX, which includes links to work here at RB.
@Robert, All I can say from my web site work in the past is that the robots check your site on a regular basisand depending on how often you get hits is how you rise up from obscurity on the search engines.
However, if you have relevant and useful titles to your work they might get more attention.
Example: One of my RB pages that gets the most hits is Washington DC – Union Station – Series – Acela Lounge
I suspect the reason it gets lots of hits is because train riders are curious about what the Amtrak Acela Lounge is like before they take a train trip and when making a search to learn about it.
The page has only been up since the start of 2010 and has more hits than any page of mine since 2008. Getting hits doesn’t translate to sales.
This particular, although an interesting source image, just hasn’t sold at all!

In
the main concourse of Washington Union Station the impressive use of
the light pours into the interior and invites you to look up toward the
vaulted ceilings so well crafted.
Union Station is the grand ceremonial train station designed to be the entrance to Washington, D.C., when it opened in 1908.
It
is one of the busiest and best-known places in Washington, D.C.,
visited by 32 million people each year. The terminal is served by
Amtrak, MARC and VRE commuter railroads, and the Washington Metro
transit system of buses and subway trains. The facility serves as the
headquarters of Amtrak.
Today Union Station is again one of
Washington’s busiest and best-known places, visited by 32 million
people each year. The terminal is located at the southern end of the
Northeast Corridor, an electrified rail line extending north through
major cities including Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston.

A gray day and snowflakes on the way…
not enough to “stick” as we say, but enough
to cause some slips going home on highways today. For me, I will be on the train.
